About me

Working with people who want change

My name is Anna Jaskulska. I am a psychologist, psychotherapist and hypnotherapist (education and experience). I live and work in Szczecin, where I run the Własne Miejsce (A Place of One's Own) therapy office — in the Pogodno district, in a green and quiet neighbourhood, providing my clients and myself with a safe space for meetings and therapeutic work.

I am passionate about working with people who want change in various aspects of their lives. I work with adults as well as adolescents aged 14 and above, and with children. For adults I provide individual and group psychotherapy, couples therapy and psychological counselling — helping with problems concerning mental health, relationships, phobias and mood disorders, and offering support in crisis situations. I also work with parents facing parenting challenges, as well as pregnant women and new mothers adjusting to their new role.

I help adolescents with difficulties concerning identity, self-esteem, self-destructive or aggressive behaviours, and building relationships with peers. For children, I run activities that develop cognitive skills and strengthen self-esteem. I conduct sessions in Polish and English, in my office and online.

How I work

From the first meeting to working together

First meeting

The first session can feel stressful, especially for people who have never used psychological support before — anxiety or nervousness is a completely normal reaction to a new situation. It's simply a conversation, during which I try to get to know the client and understand — in their own words — what the problem is and how it affects their life. Together we agree on the kind of work and the goal of therapy or counselling. Sometimes this takes a few meetings.

Psychological support and consultation

A short-term form of work, usually taken up in crisis situations or to address specific difficulties — grief, a breakup or infidelity, parenting challenges, difficulties with identity, self-esteem or forming peer relationships, conflicts at work, or problems with assertiveness.

In crisis situations, sessions are scheduled according to the client's needs, including outside standard office hours.

Usually once a week, 50 min.

Individual psychotherapy

A medium- or long-term form of work for people whose psychological difficulties negatively affect many aspects of their life — neurotic disorders, low mood, personality disorders, or the effects of trauma. We work together on recognising and changing the patterns that shape how they feel and how they build relationships with others.

Once a week, 50 min.

Couples therapy

A short- or medium-term form of work for people who want to better understand the difficulties arising in their relationship and work together to find ways to overcome them — frequent conflicts, communication problems, emotional distance, a crisis of trust, or difficulties making joint decisions. It relies on the commitment of both partners and joint work with the therapist, aiming for better mutual understanding and new ways of communicating.

Usually every two weeks, 60 min.

Group psychotherapy

Working in a group of people experiencing similar difficulties — allows for forming more interpersonal relationships than individual therapy and for learning from other participants.

Before joining a group, individual consultations take place to check whether this form of work will be suitable and safe for the client.

Once a week (90 min.) or once a month on a Saturday (4×90 min.)
